In March 2015 the Curtis Chamber Orchestra tours the U.S. with a program featuring three prominent alumni of the Curtis Institute of Music. Renowned conductor Robert Spano leads the world premiere of a viola concerto by Jennifer Higdon, Milton L. Rock Chair in Composition, performed by violist Roberto Díaz, the school’s president. The program also includes three songs composed by Mr. Spano as well as Prokofiev’s “Classical” Symphony and Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony. The Curtis Chamber Orchestra appears through Curtis On Tour, the school’s global touring initiative.
